A simple twist, and it is off. The bayonet connector part of the pump cost about $65, and hanging below the TC it is easy to break. I always take mine off, but I really do see where it would make a difference if the dump valves were closed. They do sell permanent mount Flojet pumps. The connection appears to be the only difference.
