flojet pump motor needed

Well, after many (12? 15?)years my flojet macerator pump needs a new motor. p/n 74001-4853 Anyone know of a source for these? Or an interchange motor for it? Checked Amazon & Ebay, still looking. Thanks.:( Or....two of those little circular orange colored electronic components marked: 222 1KU that are down inside the commutator/brush area!

  • I have found that replacing the pump motor is, in reality, buying a new macerator pump! If I can find some small electronic components I will repair my (really!) old pump (motor) for a spare. Thanks to all for your comments/suggestions !!!:)

So you no longer need this motor?

Second OP post says he'll repair the existing unit to keep as a spare, so yes, I think he still needs one? :?

I have ordered a new (entire) pump kit for $186.00 !! I try to repair my own stuff as much as possible, and I would repair this old motor as a back-up if I can.

Was going to ask if replacing the entire unit would be a better option.
    I see it is?
    Good luck.

Perhaps Pump Vendor can help. I rebuilt my FloJet a few years ago but because the current model is somewhat different than those manufactured 15 yrs ago I had a heck of a time getting the right parts, ended up using just the impeller and gaskets but not the pump body. The repair worked fine but in retrospect I should have just bought a new macerator.
