ford 460 power loss

I bought a 1992 Georgie Boy Encounter with 60 ford mpi engine. We picked it up and droe it 3 hrs home. Flawless trip. Took it on a trip and put about 8 hrs driving time without an issue. About 100 miles from home it started to loose power like a clogged filter. I stopped and changed it. Ran for about 15 miles and lost power. Shut the key off coast then restart and go again. Got home and figured it must be the sock in the tank. Dropped the tank and found a relatively new( replaced a couple momths before we bought it) fuel pump. Went on a short trip and same issue. On the way home, lost power to the point of barely making 25mph. Engine starts and idles fine. Fuel pressure seems right.
Anyone have any experience with such an issue?
  • I chased something like that in another Ford (not that brand matters). Finally found that the fuel line had been smashed somehow.
    I like Buds idea though!
  • Bad catalytic converter! Had a rental truck that ran good for short spurts then lost most of the power. Pull over, turn off engine, wait five-ten minutes, it takes off and runs good for a while.
