I'm not sure if they actually have a fix for it yet.

It actually is pretty much every Double Coach Step, regardless of manufacturer.
The FIX is BS. We have done one and the FULL recall(if the step pivot bolt is broken) takes about 2 hours. But LCI will only pay 1.1 hours labor. The OEM's will NOT step up and pay the extra labor to cover the actual cost. For just installing the brace kit, they pay .3 hours. This is if the step has not broken the Pivot bolt. After you do one it can be done in .3 of an hour, but should pay .5
To do the FULL recall requires removing the complete step assbly from the motorhome. Once removed, you must use a die grinder to cut the weld on top of the Pivot bolt nut. You then must use an E-Z-OUT or broken bolt drill out kit to remove the broken Pivot Bolt threads still in that nut. You then install the new Pivot bolt with a specific type required Locktite and then install that .3 recall brace kit. Soooo, Shops like ours will NOT install the FULL recall kit unless the customer purchased the RV from us. Due to the lack of a fair time to do the FULL recall. We will install just the bracket/ brace kit on all customers. Just another reason LCI (Lippert) is not an honorable company to deal with. They are now the largest RV component supplier in the RV industry and this episode just goes to prove what jerks they really are. Yes, they are the same company that supplies the Schwintek Slide system:M Doug
AND, they will not allow dealers to stock the recall kits. You must order each kit only after the customer comes in and the Service center verifies what recall kit is needed.
