Don't worry about Hydrogen vs Helium- that has nothing to do with your problem- the main point is that the cooling unit is somewhat non-standard. I've changed a couple, but never really paid attention to the burner/flame fuse orientation.
The only way Dometic would know which unit you have is with the product number, which specifies every option on the refrigerator.
Here is a picture of the Siegen vs Standard Dometic "Caravan 95" cooling unit:

Note the differences, particularly around the burner area.
