Fridge only staying cold for 12-14 hours on AC

Doug I'm going to hook the element up direct as you suggested and see what happens. I'm assuming that when I do this I leave the fridge off? One thing I noticed is that after the fridge stops cooling on AC, the element and flue still stay warm but not as hot as when it's first cooling down.If I run the element direct for a few days and it freezes down and stays that way I'm assuming my new lower board would have to be defective?
