The need to level applies to both electric and propane.

Comfortable to live in...no 'noticeable' slope/tilt

Heat source doesn't matter.....it is all about the natural heat cycle and gravity flow of coolant regardless of of how it is heated

Overheating due to lack of coolant flow from being off level can occur within 20 minutes of operation.
Flow of coolant is only thing that keeps tubing from overheating
