Fried

The 120v power supply for my comp speakers fried when my conv went into boost (14.8). Could my inv voltage have spiked? I have an AIMS 300w psw.
  • yes I put it in a reg rec and it is dead. This is the second set that this has happened to. Has me puzzled. I know I an not buying another set till I get it solved. I am hearing impaired and use them on the tv. They work well until the conv goes to 14.8 then they are gone. Has nothing to do with low voltage. It is not the speakers themselves the power supply is DOA.

If battery voltage hits the inverter's cut-off set-point of say 15v, the inverter will shut off.

So not sure which way voltage drop works inverter-battery but I think it is higher voltage at the inverter end of the wire, so 14.8 battery might look like 15 to the inverter so it shut off? In shutting off like that would that harm the speaker power supply?

Is it really fried? I suppose you tried it in a regular receptacle instead of the inverter's as a check?
