Furion 30 amp input failure!

No , not some electric burn up crisis.
I was starting my EMS install and it is better to disconnect the wires on the input jack and add a longer cable to that to reach the EMS box to avoid splicing in more wire on the line going through the TT wall studs. One wire compression fitting cross-threaded! I tried to retap the threads, looked at other tightening methods, no way to get it to work so I have to replace the TT 30 amp power input jack. The nice Furion one costs $65 on Amazon. Found a generic one for $16. That's the one I'm getting. Just a two day wait with Amazon Prime.
Stupid little non standard part really pissed me off.
  • You must mean the power inlet fitting on the exterior? I'd be wary of buying a cheap alternative in those sorts of things. I bought a cheap 30 amp power inlet just to get a cover for our original Conntek one that broke. It was listed as an inlet "for Conntek" which really meant that it was a substitute for a Conntek one. I was not impressed with the quality. Can't remember if it was UL listed either.
