I've never seen a stock bi-metal thermo able to control furnace temp to within 1/2 degree F as does pretty well any garden variety digital thermo such as that Honeywell I referred to. Replacing a stock bi-metal thermo with a digital version that costs perhaps $40 in a trailer that costs $25,000 is hardly going to break the bank and a mod most would consider a worthwhile upgrade. ;)
