Furnace blower running continuously

So... doing one last weekend outing before putting the trailer away for the winter. 2013 Salem TB23H, with a digital thermostat/controller for A/C, furnace and fan. Basically, with the thermostat in 'Furnace' mode and the temp set... the blower is running non-stop, even when it seems like the furnace isn't running (seems like its just blowing air, no heat).

Is that the way its supposed to run - continuous - even when its not heating?

Thanks,

Monte
  • If the fan is set to Lo or Hi AND the furnace is on, then BOTH the furnace and air conditioner will be on at the same time.

First, switch to the fan setting and change to Auto,
Then set furnace to on - then only the furnace will be on.
  • Just slightly off topic; there may be times when you want the fan to run continuously eg. when the A/C is on and the fan set to `auto' the fan will only run when the A/C compressor kicks in. When it stops there is dead air. The fan set on `low' will keep the air moving which makes it seem cooler.
  • True. I think the 'problem' was that I was assuming that the 'Fan' speed control was just for when I had it in Fan Only. Looking back, the way it actually works does make sense; it just didn't click at the time.
