You might try lubricating the motor. Most of those little things do not have sealed bearings and you can generally get oil into the bearing area if you get the motor out into your hand and can hold it vertically and drip oil onto the shaft so it runs down into the bearing area. The bearings are most often oil impregnated powdered bronze bushings and they react well to re-lubricating. I've had excellent results using 0-20WT motor oil. Thin enough to find it's way into the bearing material and will last at least several more years. If it's still running (and squealing), chances are you can rehab it.
