Sometimes lack of use can also create squeal issue. In my case I resolved the squeal by letting the fan run for about 1/2 hr straight - squeal went away and hasn't returned. Something my auto mechanic recommended - he says that's one of the fixes he uses when customers complain about dash fans making noises in cars. Just a thought.
