Yesterday, I pulled the motor and took pics and detailed dimensions. It had a part number of 231165 stamped on it. No other useful info such as the actual manufacturer. But the literature shows the part number to be 231166.
I did as Gary suggested and ran the motor while dripping motor oil down the shaft. At the end I was mixing lithium grease with the oil to try to get some thicker stuff to go in. The unit ran very happily last night. Although the shaft did wiggle so I don't know if I will get weeks or months from this effort. In any case it buys me time.
