Furnace

Hello everyone. New to this forum. Just trying to figure out my furnace. I have a 2014 Forrest river xlr thunderbolt 380 amp. It has dual ac unit with separate thermostat controls. One in the front bedroom and one in the living room area. They are both dometic. Each has fan-cool- and furnace modes. The one in the living room works fine on all modes. The one in the bedroom room won't work when I turn it to the furnace mode. Anyone know why or what it could be?

Are you sure that the rear is a heat pump / heat strip OR that it is a AC/Furnace combination? Call Forest River they are the best instead of going to forums. If you get the answer please post it.

    Actually OP asked about BOTH

First post was about 2 A/C 2 t-stats and only 1 turning furnace on.
That question was answered by 'smkettner'

OP then in second post asked about gas/electric water heater operation
    And that was also answered
  • you know, there is a XLR owners section, at Forest River Forums.
you can post there and here back from other Thunderbolt owners.
  • Make sure you have 2 furnace's. If you only have one furnace, then the tstat that operates the furnace is the ONLY tstat that will operate it. According to the specs for your unit and options, you have just 1- 42k btu furnace. Not 2. Doug

Are you sure that both are capable of heating? I'm asking because the A/C in my Forest River says "heat" on the dial, but the A/C unit does not heat - it is an option I don't have. They just use the same dial on all the units.

    Just something to double check.

  • If you have a water heater that runs on gas and electric then yes you may use both for faster recovery.

Depends on whether or not you have a combo unit.

Atwood combo would be a GC6a or GC10A type model number (GC---combo)
    GasCombo6gallon------GasCombo10gallon

Suburban combo would be SW6DE or SW10DE type model number (E...electric)
    SuburbanWater6gallonDirectsparkElectric Or 10 gallon

  • Doubt Forrest River would connect two thermostats to the single furnace.
