Fuse size question.

Having a time figuring out fuse size, so what size fuse do I need? What i'm doing is putting in a pos and neg bus bar to get rid of the mess of cables at the batteries so I was wanting to fuse the hot wire coming off the battery to the bus bar. I'm running 2 group 24 batteries right now and will eventually upgrade to group 27. Guess i don't know if I should fuse to amount of battery amp's or what?

  • Depends on the wire size. Each branch off the bus may also need a fuse.
  • The correct answer is it depends on wire size and or the component it's protecting.
  • The starter wires (2 AWG cable) for the generator run directly to the battery terminals. No circuit breaker.

There is a 40 amp auto resetting circuit breaker protecting the battery from all camper circuits just before the disconnect.
There is a 40 amp auto resetting breaker after the disconnect.
There is a 40 amp auto resetting breaker feeding the jacks.
There is a 30 amp auto resetting breaker feeding the slide motor.
