Gas treatment

I have used PRI-G for 10 years in my trucks, motorhome, ATV, generators, chainsaws and lawnmowers. I would not use anything else.

I recently put a 10 gal batch that has been sitting for two years in my 84 toyota truck and it started first crank. That batch went through -20 degree winters and 90 degree summers in plastic fuel containers.

I have a 6 gallon batch that has been sitting five years in a metal jerry can that I will try on a old lawn mower next week (forgot about it in the old shed )

The MSDS for PRI-Gis here. It lists the main ingredient (35-45%) as Shellsol D60. Shellsol D60 is a Stoddard type solvent, akin to mineral spirits.

FWIW, I use some Stabil in tanks for my outdoor yard equipment and stationary power equipment. I've also used Seafoam and other gasoline stabilizers. Actually, either Mex's or 2Oldman's recipes would be just as effective. More than anything, the amount of time and how much air gets to your gasoline are the two defining factors for a homeowner storing gasoline. I have some 10 yr. old gas in pressurized tanks that fires just about as good as new. I use a 6 gal can around the house and that is in a less than 3 month rotation.

The introduction of mandated Ethanol in our gas was a boon to my, then, outdoor power equipment repair business. I received some lawnmowers with price tags on the handles and a tank of 6 month old gas, a few times. The owners purchased them in the Fall, never used them, and in the Spring they would not start.

I don't use the PRI-G and that wasn't in your original quote. I use the least expensive and most worthwhile additive I know of. 2-stroke outboard oil mixed 1 ounce per 5 gallons. If anyone missed the link in my previous post, go back, click and read up on it. It goes in all my 4-strokes and occasionally in my 2-strokes that are injected since they don't see the oil in the fuel system.

You'd be preachin' to the choir. Down here, all Pemex Red Pump premium gasoline is refined-in-USA Super Shell with the nitrogen additive. My first choice is Chevron but that's a l-o-n-g drive. In Mexico you would get hanged if you tried converting cherished corn (maize) into something that makes gasoline even worse.

I'm trying the PRI-G in my gen tank. It took some time looking on-line. Found it on Amazon, E-Bay. running about 26.90 for 16oz. so using it for my tank, 1oz.=1 tank. so can fill 16 times on a pint. It says gas stays fresh up to 3 years. (works for me) The only problem I see, it's not in stores yet?(but haven't checked) so for a fuel treatment that works with Ethanol. I'll be running this and let you know. Thanks for your posts. Safe camping.

I have just started using Star-Tron in everything but my diesel truck. It sounds good on paper; time will tell. Jay

How about sipping some Chevron with the Techron additive
The only additive I would ever use in my vehicles
Shell gasoline additives have clogged up my vehicles in the past

No corn liquor in my vehicles, boats, mowers, etc........
