I had one and agree they are louder. The voltage control unit went out in mine and I could not find a replacement. I ended up buying a couple yamaha 2000s.

My 2003 mh came with a Generac. Has 1400+ trouble free hours on it. And it's quiet too!

Correction: Had to replace the dry rotted fuel line to the tank....not Generacs fault.

My 2005 MH came with a Generac and I have had no problems with it. It now has about 115 hours on it.

If someone could make a generator that used EFI, an inverter (so the genset could run at an idle), and perhaps a small battery to absorb load until the engine got up to speed, they would make a mint. Several years ago I saw a 1800 RPM and also a 1200 RPM, in two different MHs.

Had one not impressed at all JUNK in a big way they shake to the end and fall a part....I went to a Honda 3000 and never had a problem bought it back years ago still have it runs great Oil is syntec now and it uses (0) one battery also I changed the spark plug once not bad for the hours are high as We dry camp a lot....whish I had a remote start for it but next one will be a Honda also ...Bushman

As of ~2011, Generac generators were discontinued for RVs.

As far as I know, the only onboard gensets available now are Onans, or for diesel, the 3000 watt PowerTech. Yes, one could spend the ten grand and go for a marine grade 5000 watt Kohler... but if that breaks, you pay marine grade prices to fix it.

My 2002 generac developed an oil leak where the hose connects to the oil cooler at about 250 hours. Shop said it would be about $2000 to repair because generator has to come out and be disassembled. Shop said to just live with it.

Are Generac RV Generators still being sold?.............I went to their website and cannot find a page for RV gennys?

Would never bad mouth a Generac.
Lost power during a hurricane several years ago. Had a Generac in the Dolphin MH, which we had at the time. Hooked it up to the house. It keep everything going: water pump, refrigerator, freezer, lights, etc. until power restored.
Do a Google on Generac Parts. See what you find. Looks like lots of sources to me.
