After reading all the new posts, my thoughts are that this is a pretty steep learning curve. At least for me it seems to be...
I am really good at many things and hark back to my rookie days in each and every one of them. Student of life! Here we have a new beginning for Morgan and my eyes are wide open to it all.. As stated, anything under the heading of "electrical" presents a large dark space in my knowledge base.. most of it just plain fear of making a mistake but again, knowledge base! Hands on experience is a great teacher but to say I am in a tenuous area would be an understatement. I know how much I don't know so will proceed with extreme caution. The best thing I do know is that I absolutely love everything about the idea of Solar!
Each time I learn something new, I look back at the beginnings and remember the times of puzzlement and confusion that always became order.
Thanks again to all... I follow this thread very closely.. Morgan
No worries, once you get the basics, it's easy to make decisions about the rest. And the really excellent part is that after it's all installed, there is nothing to do but push a button and stare at an AH meter, lol.:B
BTW, you're really getting into solar at a good time, the low panel prices are still out there. Also members here can steer you towards the cheaper controllers and wiring bits that will make it all come together reliably and well designed.
Maybe I missed it but what kind of roof area do you have to work with?
