I am too inexperienced to make the determination about batts yet, just that I know I'd like to have 2 with me in any config..
Approximate rule of thumb, 1 to 1.5 watts of solar panel, for every amp hour of battery capacity. Example: 225 Amp hours of battery capacity, go with a pair of 120 watt solar panels for 240 watts.
