I fly RC also. It would probably be cheaper to just buy a few extra batteries unless you think you'll use the generator elsewhere also. Those generators aren't light. Are you going to leave it in your truck/trailer?
Yes, you have a point...if I don't need to spend nearly $1000, I would prefer not to at this point. The field does have a 12v bank avaialble...provides 20A but I was told I can bridge 2 charging zones to get 40A. Would 12V at 20-40A be adequate?
If I "have" to purchase a generator, I might use it camping (we only go once a year)...so really, it wouldn't get much other use.
