Generator break in procedure
Does anyone know if there is a correct procedure to break in a new generator? ie let it idle for so long then put it under a load for so long ?

I have three generators. two purchased new for camping and one larger unit for house backup. Broke-in the house gen years ago. The new ones have a break-in procedure in the owners manual (manual not in front of me to quote from) but basically to run the gen under a load of up to 75% for 5-6 hours then change the oil. Broke them in last year when purchased.
I used a couple small electric heaters for the load and varied the load.
