I have a Onan QD 8K generator on my MH with 878 hrs. on it and do not worry about the fuel cost, etc. As the my need for power supercedes the cost for fuel, etc. Solar power will not provide enough electrical power to operate my needs.
I recently spent 14 hrs. running my gen. outside their TRUCK REPAIR Garage when my alternator died whle traveling, leaving me along the side of Rte. 31 in Indiana. I sat from 4:30P.M. to 6:30P.M. waiting for a tow truck to arrive. I was towed to their shop 20 miles and arrived around 10:00P.M.
I will stick to my generator every time.
and the gen overnight.
