What's really nice is that we're all free to look at it the way that we think is logical for ourselves. I do this, and I'm ofter wrong. When I put a battery backed PV system on the house I questioned myself over its ~20 year financial breakeven point. What I didn't consider was its value as a (almost) whole house UPS. When we have a power outage the transfer relay kicks over to battery power and we usually don't even know the power is out. To me, that convenience has a few thousand $ value I never considered. Similarly, when I bought the eu2000i 14 years ago, the small fortune was hard to swallow. In addition to its intended RV use, I occasionally use it as a convenience for things I never foresaw. Value I never considered. And I didn't expect it to last for this long, so now I view it as "free generator".
