I have a 3000 Honda mounted and enclosed in my truck bed with remote start. I was tempted to buy a Yamaha with the boost but there are far more dealers for Honda than Yamaha.
Will you need the dealer? Doubtful for either brand but I have owned Honda dirt bikes, rototillers and lawnmowers and they are excellent products. We serviced all brands at a John Deere dealership and Yamahas were rare and it took a little longer to get parts for them for some reason. Cant say that's Yamahas fault.
A local little league had a dozen or so old small Yamahas for their score boards. They looked like they were thrown in a cart then rolled down a hill. They brought them in every spring and I would patch them up but seldom had actual engine/gen problems.
You wont go wrong with either one. To me the problem was that I didn't want to get 2 generators out and connect. If I had to run them all night they would be susceptible to theft so I went with hard mounted and metal enclosure with an axial fan and remote start. Everyone has different ways to deal with it but both are excellent products.
