That was absolutely the worst service one could experience and a tremendous expenditure for all the aggravation. Our Onan has been performing under extreme conditions for nearly a dozen years with well over 1K hours, it is due for some hefty maintenance soon that will require removal from our rig. To that end, we purchased a remote start/stop Champion inverter genny that easily runs our rig's AC unit with room to spare, quieter and more fuel efficient as well.
It has performed marvelously over the last couple of years relegating our onboard genny to occasional usage, mostly while traveling down the highway or at rest stops. Whenever that day comes where our Onan requires costly repairs we at least have an option, we have sufficient solar and a couple of inverters to utilize the amenities within our rig, but we prefer boondocking and dry camping, many instances in extreme weather, and can not be 100 percent successful without a generator in tow.
