The Onan generators do work good, but the parts are not cheap at all to replace. Was working on a friends 4.5C that just quit, the ignition coil insulation broke down inside, as all the resistance reading measured out good , but very little spark, we also didnt want to spend a $100 for another coil just to try, so I went down to the local wreaking yard and picked up a coil pack for a ford 6 cyl car and wired it in place of the original for $10 and still have 2 unused spare coils left over. the newer onan gensets have way more electronics in them than the need to have as well, as my 1977 genset only really has a couple of fuses, switch, and relay, and the rectifier. As far as the Hondas go they could be installed quite easy, and most of the parts are being copied off shore, and cheap, the even sell a conversion carb that runs off propane..
