I have a 15K BTU A/C on my trailer. When I bought the trailer brand new, I immediately removed the OEM start capacitor on the A/C unit and threw it in the trash. I immediately installed the Suppco Hard Start Capacitor, just to go easier on my twin Hondas.
I run my twins with the A/C, lights and a TV on, no problem. If I'm going to run the microwave or a coffe pot, I like to shut the A/C off just to go easier on the gennys. You can really hear the gennys running full bore if the A/C and either a microwave or coffee pot is on. Generally though, if it's hot and the A/C is on, I won't be drinking any coffee.
Once, one of my Honda generators ran out of fuel and I didn't realize it. I stepped outside and discovered that my 15K A/C was running on only "one cylinder" (one Honda EU2000). So, once the A/C gets up and running, I guess the one generator will keep it afloat. However, that would soon exceed the "continuous" running rating of a Honda EU2000, which is only 1,600 watts.
Too many people think that a Honda EU2000 will give them continuous 2000 watts of power. NEGATIVE!!! Only 2000 watts for 30 minutes! It's really just a surge protector. Same goes for a Yamaha 2400 which has a "continuous" rating of 2000 watts. But.... that genny weighs more!
Now I have a seperate external fuel tank to run the twins and I can run all night without running out of fuel.
