Curious - why is that a residential type recept. and not an SCD RV type?

Wasn't aware of this.
What's the diff? Is it that important?
When I added a new (non-GFCI) 120V socket, I just used the standard household variety from Lowes.
Here is what the back of one looks like. Can connect up to 3 romex cables. They are used in RVs due to the 1" or so thickness of walls and some cabinetry locations and standard outlet boxes won't fit. I would say they're a fair bit faster to install too. Also used in mobile homes. The trick to using these is getting the wires pushed in properly which doesn't always happen at a factory. A worker can be doing cabinetry one minute and electrical the next and there's no quality control or electrical inspectors checking anything. Some of the work would never pass inspection in building construction. The first recept. I ever pulled out was in our first TT (2 TTs ago) had one of the wires barely hanging on. Could easily have overheated with enough load on it.
SCD wiring devices (recepts., switches, etc) are CSA (Canadian Standards Assoc.) approved and have therefore gone through rigorous testing and have met very stringent standards. They are not used because they are "cheap" as some claim.
Nothing wrong with an outlet box and residential recept. as long as you have the mounting depth. I've added both these and SCD type in our current TT.
