Going to try to explain this....LOL...Need help

I hope I'm not being the biggest pita.....
New find. If I unbplug the negative cable while plugged in I get 4 lights and the meter shows 13.4 on the positive terminal on the battery and the negative cable not attached to battery.
That mean the newish battery I bought last year could be junk?
