Yah, depending on the persons needs you would have to weight that out. However, if you are a large solar user I would consider giving up some capacity for the charging characteristics of the AGMS not to mention maintenance free. Always a trade off but in our case it would be worth it.

The Costco 6v Interstates are 208 amp/hrs.... How do I know?... I called Interstate and asked... End of debate....

At least Sams publishes the ratings. Shame on Costco for generally omitting the rating.

A couple years ago it appeared the Duracell Batteries at SAMs were really made at EastPenn-Deka and sold in Sams Clubs East of the Mississippi. Not sure if that is still current, but I'm happy with mine so far.

Not necessarily correct on that, Sam's club carries TWO different "brands". At some stores you can only get Energizer at 208 Ahr, Energizer "PREMIUM" with 232 Ahr at 20 hr rating..

Some Sams stores like mine carry Duracell brand, they have two versions of FLA also..

My "Duracell" GC2 from Sams carries a 215Ahr rating at 20hr rate for FLA at a current "member price" of $84.52 each

The slightly higher rated Duracell of 230 Ahr at 20 hr rate for $112.68 BUT it IS NOT AVAILABLE AT EVERY SAM'S CLUB STORE..

So depending on the club store you visit you WILL find one of two brands and each brand you might find two different Ahr specs..

Its not worth haggling over the little difference in amp hours between the different brand names of the typical same size GC batteries. Like was said they all zero around 220. If its worth haggling over getting the very last amp hour,....if you even believe the specs to be that accurate, keep shoppin.
And as far as longevity, the truth is, any of them will last 5 to 10 years, if they are kept charged, and maintained correctly, and depending how many cycles they have delivered.

The most common GC-2 Batteries are 220 amp hours give or take 10

Some companies (IE: Deka) make serveral nearly identical batteries classed as GC-2, 210 to 230 amp hours.. Mine are 230 amp hours and near as I can tell are physically identical (Save for weight) to the 220 amp hour Interstates they replaced. (They are heavier)

Trojan also makes a taller one (NOT a GC-2) that often fits in the same box if you have the height.. 250 amp hours.

Oh, Some companies will use different discharge rates to rate their batteries so they get fantastic numbers.. But the true rating is no different. Most all brands are within 10 percent of 220 AH.

I got the premium's from Sam's and those 6V's are 232. The Costco I went to said they don't carry them anymore. The only bad is their 7 months old.
