An open cradle 2 pole head, 3600 rpm generator is a dang sight more noisy than any enclosed inverter genny, no matter what brand. About as loud as my lawnmower.
I've heard them both (lawnmowers and open frame genny's. I own both. I certainly would not take either camping, especially when there are other humans around that are attempting to enjoy some peace and 'quiet'.
