did you replace the existing converter, or just turn it off ?
you don't want it on, and drawing charge power in an endless useless drain

Yes you need to turn off the charging circuit on your convertor in the camper. This is usually labeled on one of the breakers..
On mine its not labeled but its the breaker for the front bed outlets..
If I were to plug my camper into an invertor and not turn off the charging circuit at the converter then the invertor will try to charge the battery's..
As stated a viscous circle...
