I have two Dash Cams (One Fwd and One Aft) and also a Radar Detector with GPS - all three on suction cups.
The suction cup for the Escort Max 360 has a sticky substance out of the box and has not presented a problem. The two dash cams were always falling off with prolonged temperature changes.
I replace the mounts for those two devices with Ram brand mounts - larger suction cups. (I believe 4") Not perfect, but an improvement.
I finally discovered putting a VERY SMALL dab of Vaseline on my finger and putting a very, very thin layer on the outer edge of the suction cup before applying to the glass. (I, of course, clean all pieces and glass first with alcohol and apply a warm suction cup to a warm glass if possible.)
Have not had one come loose in many months.
EDIT: By "outer edge" I mean maybe the outer 1/4"-3/8" of the contact surface. The center area of the suction cup does not actually contact the glass and a small area in the center is under a vacuum holding the two surfaces in contact with each other.
