I'd suggest to plumb your drains, tanks with 1 1/2" ABS. Do not use a bilge pump, they are notoriously unreliable. Locate the tank(s) underneath the van. There are shallow tanks available. If you will be using this RV in very cold weather, install a tank heating pad on the tank and insulate the tank area.
Vent any tank you install with 1 1/2" ABS or PVC pipe. You should forget about using any 3/4" pipe or fittings except for an adaptor that will allow you to connect a hose on the outlet of the tank drain. Use a conventional RV tank outlet fitting at the drain end from the tank. If using this system in the US, you're going to run into disposal issues at 90% of the places you park if thinking of draining on the ground. I would bet Montreal and surrounding areas are similar. I didn't make the laws but they are in place.
