Greasing wheel bearings

My Dexter manual recommends 12,000 miles. You'll be way under that for your trip. Enjoy!

That's what I do, ie, approx 12,000 miles

Be sure to take a test run after doing all the bearings. Too many horror stories of problems arising after redoing the bearings due to improper procedures or just plain "Oops" issues. Personally, unless your talking about a boat trailer, I think every year is overkill. Especially if you're doing less than 10,000 miles per year.

Maybe do the trailer bearings when you do your other vehicle bearings. :)

Once a year is plenty with 10,000 or 50,000 km

My other vehicles have sealed bearings and get replaced maybe every 10 years.

Grease is cheap. I have smoked too many bearings to not do it yearly.

With what you an others are saying, I am good, even though I m putting higher miles on, still won't be over 10,000 miles or 16,000 km.

I feel same as fj.

Obviously there's not sufficient grease if they won't ignite. :B

When you blow a bearing (for those who do not know what I meant), the grease breaks down and the bearings heat up and break. You can have a wheel go flying.
