I wonder if they are using a MOSFET transistor in that Chinese Transpo F540XHD regulator? Sorta the reason I steered toward a 911-02. Replace the cheapo pot of the 911-02 with a Bournes 10-turn pot then you've got something.
For STABLE voltage readout, connect a four feet long #18 gage wire to a battery post. Then connect a 1000 uf electrolytic capacitor, then proceed to finish the run to a good digital volt-meter like a DROK. I like caps rated for at least 75 VDC for durability. The voltage image you get will be accurate yet much more stable. Stops constant numerical hunting.
