Hall Effect DC amp meter

eBay has some new hall effect sensor meters
rating -50 amp to +50 amp
reads charge discharge

no counting or anything
these are similar to the 70amp ones that were available 6 or 7 yrs ago
with added Voltage display function
for some uses were the load is less than 50amps, these can be used as replacements or New installs

  • You have to go down the page and in the specs it says +/- 100 Amps

Was looking at the specs I didn't see anything to tell which direction the current was flowing - was hoping to see a minus(-) symbol...

ALso wonder what you do to make it read voltage.. Don't see any button on front frame...

  • just FYI, the larger the range, the less precise the measurement. so a 100a meter on a 20a fused circuit is going to be rather useless (IMHO)

Hey thanks guys - Just in time too... I need three... I believe I will go with AMAZON PRIME... Hope that one reads both directions with a minus (-) - didn't read up on it yet... Last time I ordered from EBAY I ran into a couple of problems with PAYPAL... I guess I haven't used as much as I should have...

    3/4-inch hole is just great...

I will use something from LOWES ELCETRICAL PVC Boxes to hold the COIL...

    Thanks for the posts...

Of Course I want one of those multi function screen meters to on here a week or so ago... One of those had a settable alarm function too...

    They pretty neat as well

    Even MEX likes these prices...
