Ham antenna mount

I'm looking for options on mounting a copper J Pole to the trailer or free standing. I'm thinking some kind of telescoping pole I could secure to the trailer tongue to get the J Pole above the trailer roof? I have a toy hauler so no rear bumper. What are you guys using?

If the J-Pole is light enough, you could just use 1" PVC. I use two pieces of 7 foot long 1" PVC and couple them together with a PVC junction to support my Diamond X30 antenna. Works very well and looks nice too. The two seven foot PVC pieces fit nicely in the pass-through storage underneath, along with the antenna. Of course you will still have to figure out how to support the PVC off your trailer tongue. Could just use bunji cords and fasten it to side of the trailer at the awning support??? I use a special flag pole holder mounted on my rear ladder. The Diamond X30 is probably lighter than your J-Pole....and works just as well .... is a dual band, BTW.

J pole is a nice antenna.. Built my first one like 45 years ago.

Still have a couple floating around though I'm changing the RV's antenna to a coxial Dipole Should be right close to identical performance.. You do know the J-Pole has another name as well don't you? (I will not say what it is I'm giving you a research project) Has to do with where they were first used.

Now as to your question.. A fiberglass flag pole would work well Strap it to the upper section...

Click Here For a company that sells a real nice telescoping pole.. Bit pricy but this puppy can take a small beam and rotor!!!

I've seen hams use this product for mounting smaller and light wind load antennas. a j-pole shouldn't be a problem.
