Hanging Items on Trailer Wall

Would like to hang a fire extinguisher and broom holder on a fifth wheel wall. What should I be using to hang something on a hollow wall? Also, is the wall stud likely wood or metal and what is the wall depth? Thank you.

Thanks for the info. Any thoughts on how well the Command Strips would work in a rig that consistently gets super heated during the summer months?

That's the condition that my rig is in. There are a lot of command strips on the walls, and they're still sticking.

  • We use Command strips for many things, and like them a lot. But personally I wouldn't test them with the free unsupported weight of a fire extinguisher.
  • We use Command Strips as Old-Biscuit does, they work very well for us. JMO
  • Wall stud.....wood or aluminum?
What did your trailer mfg. use?

Fire extinguisher.....should be mounted so it is supported by floor or counter etc. so that it doesn't go bouncing around during travel.

    Wall recessed mounts readily available.

We use 3M Command Strips to mount items (even heavy ones) on walls without having to put holes in wall.

RV walls are thin...less than 2 1/2" (Just look at entry door frame)

Toggle bolts are effective but leave very large holes.
