There are a bunch of people that use these, even in the RV crowd. The thing is there are kits that offer more power for not much more money, or even the same power for less money. You can pick up a 40w folding kit on ebay for under $100 with free shipping. For what HF wants when it isn't on sale you could get twice the watts.
The few that I've seen use them while camping are in pop ups or older rigs without control boards where the only power use is a light or occasional use of the pump. The kits either keeps up or makes it so that they don't need to recharge before they go home.
So if you understand how much power they offer, it fit your needs and budget, then it may be just the ticket. If it doesn't and you are still interested in solar, then there are plenty here that use it and are willing to help. Personally I prefer craigslist and ebay. My first 230w portable system was less than $200 and was power than we could use without trying to microwave a turkey.
