That is a great price for a machine with better specs. The reviews so far are good, too. But you know the Honda will have better resale value down the road.
I wonder how you folks deal with a genny this size, in your various RV's? I'm late 60's -- when I was a young buck, I would not have thought twice about picking up 100 lbs. But it's probably more than I could handle now. How do you 'rassle' machines this heavy, in and out of your RV storage compartments (if you don't have help...)? I travel with my wife who's 5'4" and about 110 lbs soaking wet, so no help there with heavy lifts.
Why I have the Champ 2000 watt. My juice needs are limited, no ac and it's easy enough for me to deal with 50 pounds. I'm 67. Like the shape (rectangular) as well. Sits nicely on the floor of my Pup. Not into resale, into reliable.
I had a 10 year old Yamaha 2800I open cradle inverter I sold on flea-bay last year and I only sold it because at 10 years I figured the electronics might start giving me issues. Yamaha's hold their value well, as well. I sold it for 3/4's of what I paid for it, bought the Champ )which was much lighter) and took the balance and put it in my savings account.
I don't believe any Champ would hold it's value that well (or Predator for that matter, but at 67, if I get 10 years from the Champ, I'll be tickled and from the online reviews, that seems real doable. At 77, I don't expect to be camping much. Probably be in a nursing home with some young lass wiping my drool.
