I just read through this thread and this generator sounds interesting. I followed rjxj's link to HF's web page and downloaded the owner's manual. It lists the specs on page 2 including the Sound Level at 23 ft., 25% load as 57 dB. So, to me, HF has fully qualified the sound spec. 23 ft. is just a hair over 7 meters and IIRC is the distance the National Park Service uses for measuring generators. Honda's page for the EU3000is lists sound level as 58 dB @ rated load, 49 dB @ 25% load. I could not find a distance for those measurements.
However, I think it may be just a bit unfair to compare almost any generator to the sound level of a 3000is. I have seen in few places (sorry, don't remember where now) that the Honda is one of, if not the, quietest of the inverter generators. Having been around both an EU3000is and an EU2000i for two days, both gens in eco mode and very lightly loaded, the 2000 seemed subjectively a bit louder.
If any one buys the HF, please keep this thread updated with your experiences. I, for one, am very interested. Thanks in advance.
