All manufacturers build in a certain amount of extra cost to their products to cover potential warranty and recall cost they could incur.
Harbor Freight leaves that out of the picture to get the cost down, but if you wish they have full replacement coverage available. I just checked $79 for one year or $129 for two years over the counter exchange coverage at any store. Still a heckuva bargain.
