Sure, why not, any place that has a path to the frame. Your furnace box probably has another ground so connecting to that frame would work, also.
This is how I grounded the last furnace wire that I couldn't get back into it's slot (way back and behind the blower). It's a metal loop end for the wire screwed into the metal sheeting/box that the furnace sits in. Goes through to the wood platform it's sitting on. I'd sure like to know where it's supposed to go though... ?
