I have never had a slide controller fail. The first years I had my Newmar I had lots of intermittent problems. In the front it was always a magnetic proximity switch, either at the auto slide locks or the one for the entire slide in the basement. The longest lasting intermittent problem was the two switches,one each for the two rear bed room slides. Replaced those and 5 years of off and on problems went away. It to an independent mobile tech to figure out the two switch problem.
