oldman, did you get the SSW or PST series Samlex? I was going to go with the cheaper SSW until I read some bad reviews describing your problem with fan. I sprang for the more expensive PST 300W Samlex and the fan does not run all the time and is very quiet when it does. No vibration either. If I recall, the PST series is 40-50 bucks more but better built IMO.
