I can't hear other peoples heating and A/C units while inside my rig (even when I had my 5th wheel), yours must have very poor or non existent insulation.
Do you neighbors a favor and use portable electric heaters - efficient and quiet. One of the benefits of camping during the winter is that most campgrounds are quiet - until someone rolls in and turns on their air conditioning unit/heat pump. Just my 02. - rvtenExplorerHeat strips are a waste of $$$. Go with a heat pump.
- dalehelmanExplorerA heat pump is the way to go but they only work down to temps in the mid 30 degrees. Then you will still need the gas furnace.
- pianotunaNomad IIIHi bamagirl,
There are two ways to do it.
One is to buy an air conditioner that has a spot for a "heat strip". That will provide about 5000 btu's of heat. I find mine useful, but most folks don't like them because the heat is much cooler than they expect (after all it may be coming out of 6 or 7 ducts). Also, heat does rise--so warming up the ceiling doesn't do much for the floor. (we would not want you to get "cold feet".)

A better, but more expensive way, is to upgrade to a heat pump. Basically it is an air conditioner that can extract heat from outside air--and "pump" it into the RV. These will produce much more usable heat--perhaps as much as 15000 btu's.

- camperpaulExplorerThere are a few.
