Help! What purpose does this water line serve? Pic included.
Hello. We had to replace our water tank. Now we are wondering if this line connecting the hot and cold water serves any purpose? If not...we will simply remove it.

You do need to leave that bypass and valves on the water lines to the tank. That is the way you get antifreeze into the hot water lines without filling the tank too.
