Help! What purpose does this water line serve? Pic included.
Hello. We had to replace our water tank. Now we are wondering if this line connecting the hot and cold water serves any purpose? If not...we will simply remove it.

YES, leave it on as others have said and also you need to turn your valves on or you won't be getting any hot water.
